Birthday-ness, Date-ness, and Project-ness

Adam and his mom have very close birthdays (May 31st and June 3rd) and have celebrated together on many occasions. This year we half celebrated Adam's on his birthday by having him open his preasents, but saved cake and ice-cream for Mom's birthday.

Adam got a new sander from his dad, and some new sandal/ slippers from me :)

We had Aunt Kate, Uncle Mark and Aaron, Hoku and kids over for the birthday fun!!

Adam lighting the candles...

Allie wasn't feel'n like picture taking so we included her nonchalantly...

Now for some date fun! Adam and I doubled with Aaron and Hoku for a super date. We left Grandma and Grandpa in charge and headed out for some bowling, a movie, and some dinner (over-kill? I think not!). It was great! Oh, and Hoku Whooped at bowling...

Nice form ;)

As for projects, we've started tackling the basement. Ceiling, walls, doors, floor, baseboards and all. In EVERY room. They started in the craft room/ William's room for the time-being, and then moved on to the big bed-room. Currently they are working on the family room (as in right this second..) and then they will attack the bathroom and laundry room.
Here is the before/ in the middle of ... Craft room (that's green padding, not the carpet. The carpet just looked like the other pictures that you will see of the basement).

Here are Dad and Adam painting away...

And, of course, William always gets in on the action :)

And here is the new and improved Sewing/ guest-room!! (well, except they're still going to make a box to go over the hole/shut-off valve to the water.)

Stay tuned for more exciting improvement pictures...

Springtime in Vancouver

Vancouver is a beautiful place all the time, but especially in the spring time :) And we've been enjoying our visit here a lot!!
One of the highlights has been getting to see some old favorite places :)
We went to Klineline lake for a fun water experience for William and memories sake for us! In Adam's words "William is a stud in the water." He splashed and laughed and seemed to really enjoy it.

With William teething again and fighting naps, we decided to spend Memorial Day outside the house having a picnic lunch, walking along the water front, watching boats and planes, and visiting our "first kiss" spot ;) It was a fun outing and a much needed get away from those teething problems...

And of course there is fun around the house too!

PS: here are some of the finished projects in the house.
The Main floor bathroom...
Before (well, kind of. it's the mid-way):

After:

New flooring, paint, trim/ molding, door, caulk, decor, and we "framed" the mirror :)

Adam sanding and painting the eves:

And they are currently replacing all the doors on the main floor (sanding and painting and caulking etc...) it's been quite the job for them, but they have so much more to do before our time is up here!

Nothing New

Nothing new with us here. Just hanging out and enjoying time with grandparents. Adam is doing lots of projects for his dad around the house (pictures to come!), and William is being as cute and fun as ever. Lately, his favorites include eating cottage cheese and cheerios, playing Grandma's piano, and sitting by the sliding glass doors and looking outside. We also love to go on lots of walks and play in the grass.

He gets excited whenever he sees the camera and tries to grab it :)

Outside fun

Sorry there's no more pictures and nothing else too eciting going on. Like I said, pictures of all the projects going on here at the house will be posted soon. I just have to take the pictures!

Projects done:
Main Floor Bathroom Makeover (new caulking, new toilet, new flooring, new door, new decorations, and a new coat of paint!)
Garage Clean Out

Projects in motion:
Sanding and Painting the Roof Eves (spelling?)
Paint Bathroom Door

Projects to come:
All other Bathroom makeovers
Re-paint and replace trim/molding in all downstairs
Re-carpet all basement
and alot of other smaller stuff. It's going to be a new house! Kinda.. :)

Our days :)

We've been in Washington for two weeks now! Adam got his graduation present from his dad: Air comressor, chop-saw, and other random tools :)

We enjoyed some sunny days :)

(p.s. that's not my bangs, it's just some hair fallying funkily in front of my forehead...)

William also enjoyed more time with his cousins Allie and Malia:

And, on a daily basis, William plays with his toys, naps with his favorite blankie and teddy bear (from his great grand mothers), and goes on walks and enjoys the great northwest :)

Oh, and I caught a great smile :)
